He is regarded as one of the greatest cricketers in Pakistan's history, having led his team to victory in the 1992 Cricket World Cup. After retiring from cricket, he founded the political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in 1996, with the aim of creating a corruption-free Pakistan. Khan's political career had a slow start, with PTI winning only one seat in the National Assembly in the 2002 general election. However, he persisted in his mission, tirelessly traveling across the country to rally support for his party's vision. He finally achieved a breakthrough in the 2013 general election, in which PTI emerged as the third largest party in the National Assembly. It was in the 2018 general election that Khan's hard work paid off, as PTI emerged as the single largest party in the National Assembly. He was sworn in as the Prime Minister of Pakistan on August 18th, 2018, promising to build a "New Pakistan" based on the principles of justice, equality, and accountability. Since taking office, Khan has been focused on implementing his party's agenda of rooting out corruption, strengthening institutions, and improving the lives of ordinary Pakistanis. He has initiated a number of measures aimed at improving the economy, such as encouraging foreign investment, increasing exports, and reducing the budget deficit. He has also launched several social welfare programs, including a program to provide health insurance to the poor and the establishment of shelter homes for the homeless. Khan has been a strong advocate of peace and stability in the region, and has made efforts to improve relations with Pakistan's neighbors, including India and Afghanistan. He has also been a vocal advocate for environmental conservation, highlighting the need to address climate change and protect Pakistan's natural resources. Despite facing numerous challenges, including a struggling economy and political opposition, Khan remains committed to his vision of a better Pakistan. His dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the country have earned him the respect and admiration of many Pakistanis.
